Even though there were insolvency proceedings in 13.985 cases (+1.2% as compared to the same period in 2006), only 2447 of these regarded companies (-12.8% as compared to August 2006).

Order intake in mechanical engineering up by 7 percent 5. According to the German Association for Mechanical Engineering (VDMA), the domestic business grew by 1%. Foreign demand increased by 10% as compared to September 2006.
