When it comes to the use of business applications from the cloud, Germany comes in last place internationally. This was the finding of the Cloud Barometer 2015 study conducted by the Dutch market research institute Pb7 on behalf of the German software company Exact.
According to the data of the study, Belgium leads the pack in the use of business software from the cloud. Of the Belgian companies surveyed, 53% indicated that they use one or more cloud solutions. The United States comes second with 51%, closely followed by the United Kingdom with 47%. In Germany, however, this figure is as low as 31%.
In terms of countries in which companies use even more than three cloud solutions, the United States leads the way with a share of 29%. On this issue, Germany only scores 10%, thereby bringing up the rear with the lowest share of heavy cloud users.
For the Small Business Cloud Barometer 2015, Exact, a developer of business software in the cloud, surveyed a total of 3,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with fewer than 50 employees in Belgium, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the United States. The study is broken down according to data on manufacturers and wholesale distributors as well as data from company accountants and can be downloaded free of charge after registering.
