The future of telecommunications will see an unprecedented increase in the demand for networking due to the fusion of traditional industries with the Internet. This will result in comprehensive networking, which will feature high data rates of good quality and at competitive prices. This was forecasted by the “11th Analyst Conference of 2015” organised by the Chinese network equipment supplier ZTE.
As long as the increasing traffic generated by mobile devices continues to overtake data traffic in the fixed network, mobile users will also be the primary Internet users. In the next five years, the volume of mobile data traffic will also gradually outstrip the data traffic generated by voice and text messages to become the most important source of income for network operators. Likewise, the internal data traffic of companies is increasingly shifting to mobile devices. Given that data communication is also moving towards person-to-machine and machine-to-machine, the number of networked devices is expected to reach anywhere from 50 to 100 billion.
The Internet of Things and Big Data should decisively shape the transformation of telecommunications for commercial customers. Services for private customers mainly include home cinema and entertainment as well as the intelligent home. As an equipment supplier, ZTE recommends that network operators build up mobile networks and integrated services to meet the needs of companies, enter into global IT outsourcing and develop business-oriented cloud services.
