Digital out of Home: Banks are Driving the Market for Digital Signage

Digital signage gets up to around three quarters of its business from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The retail sector continues to be the largest vertical market, with around 25% of all profits.

The OVAB Europe Digital Signage Business Climate Index (DBCI) for March/April 2015 shows that company communications and the banking sector could double their proportion of business volume in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (currently at 15.9% and 8.3% respectively). This development is due in part to the restructuring of the branch network, which is already fully advanced in Switzerland.

While the business climate index for digital signage and DooH (Digital out of Home) has practically become stagnant at 59.5 points, providers are looking markedly confident: 58.7% expect an improvement. In Germany, where the state of business was rated comparatively well (66.3%), the proportion of optimists even increased to 61.1% (Austria: 57.1%, Switzerland: 52.9%).
