Collaboration: Video communication boosts the ability to make decisions

More than 80 % of companies who use video today see the ability to make faster decisions as a particular benefit. In practice, this form of communication is mainly used within the company.

On behalf of Polycom, Quocirca examined more than 800 companies of all sizes to determine how high video communication is ranked among the various forms of collaboration: Although a wide range of employees already make use of video, this is usually confined to in-house meetings. Video conferences with customers and partners could significantly speed up the business processes, but remain little used. One third of those companies surveyed said that better access to video solutions – specifically on mobile devices – would increase their use. Lack of access in particular was mentioned as one of the arguments against using video. This is closely followed by preconceptions: It is considered difficult to operate and of poor quality.
