Big data: Oracle enables enhanced Hadoop analyses

Oracle recently presented several big data solutions which should make access to new information much easier: Oracle Big Data Discovery, the “face of Hadoop”, makes large, unstructured datasets more accessible for analysis. Oracle GoldenGate for Big Data streams unstructured data from heterogeneous transactional systems into Apache big data systems in real time. This means that the big data reservoirs are at the same level as the production systems. On the other hand, Oracle Big Data SQL 1.1 extends Oracle SQL to Hadoop and NoSQL. Here, the retrieval speed was increased by 40% compared to the previous version. Oracle NoSQL Database 3.2.5 offers predictable, low latency and supports DDL (Data Definition Language) for the retrieval of SQL and NoSQL data.

Oracle Big Data Discovery also provides a graphical interface for the correlation of Hadoop, NoSQL and SQL in its own data centre or in outsourced computer centres. This means that raw data can be detected in Hadoop and statistical correlations established between data attributes and combinations.
