Availability: Outages caused by DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attacks can be expensive

DDoS attacks cost the affected companies between € 46,000 and € 390,000 according to a study carried out by B2B International on behalf of Kaspersky Lab. In the aftermath of the attack, 65% of DDoS victims surveyed had to call in an IT security specialist, almost one half (49 %) modified the complete IT infrastructure and 46 % consulted a solicitor.

During DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attacks, companies are bombarded with pointless requests causing their servers to crash. Following a DDoS attack, 61% of the 3900 IT decision-makers surveyed worldwide had at times no access at all to critical corporate data, and 38% of companies were no longer able to out their core business.
