According to a study conducted by IDG Connect on behalf of Oracle, most companies have learned how to successfully carry out cloud projects, whereby private cloud models are apparently particularly quick to set up: Almost two thirds of the companies surveyed (60%) reported immediate, or at least fast implementation.
When choosing the next steps to take in cloud computing, over a third of companies (36%), however, stated that they opt for hybrid models, closely followed by the private cloud (32%) and, lagging some way behind, public cloud services (17%). What continues to concern those responsible for private clouds, however, are issues relating to data security (55%), integration with existing applications (47%), internal competencies (45%) and hardware costs (44%).
