Security remains one of the driving forces of the German IT market. Particularly the protection from cyberwar and DDos attacks and measures to prevent data leakage could also lead to increased investments. According to a study from the Experton Group, in 2015 around EUR 1.6 billion will be invested in security services in Germany, and around EUR 2.4 billion in IT security products. By 2018, expenditures in this area could reach a total of EUR 5.3 billion.
However, only a few manufacturers and service providers offer the whole spectrum of IT security. Providers who buy extra functions and solutions admittedly make a platform with best-of-breed solutions possible in doing so; however, the integration is obviously sometimes lacking. At the same time, the German IT market in particular is affected by an acute lack of security experts. It is not only users, but also providers of products and consulting services who struggle to cover their need for security specialists.
