From 24 to 26 March 2015, the second JavaLand Conference will be held in Phantasialand in Brühl near Cologne. The event, organised by the German Oracle user community (DOAG) and the Heise Zeitschriften Verlag (Heise magazine publishing) in collaboration with the iJUG (Association of German-speaking Java user groups), is once again offering more than 100 lectures, as well as a community programme with Coding Dojos, Hacker Garden, Java Innovation Lab and JavaLand-Jogging. This year’s conference will also offer for the first time a workshop day in connection with the two days of conferences.
The keynote speeches will be given by Marcus Lagergren, Consulting Member of Technical Staff at Oracle and specialist for JRockit, and by Dr Mark Little, Vice President of Red Hat, where he is responsible for JBoss (Technical Direction, Research and Development). On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Java, Lagergren will focus in his talk on the history of the programming language and platform, while Dr Little will shed light on the connections between Java and the Internet of Things.
Registration for JavaLand can be done online at the website javaland.eu. The regular price for the admission ticket for both days is EUR 625 plus VAT (separate conditions apply to DOAG and iJUG members). If registration is completed before 30 January 2015, an earlybird discount will reduce the price to EUR 500.
