For 70 percent of the top management, the reorganisation of their IT departments took top priority. According to the CSC Global CIO Survey 2014-2015 it is the managers in Europe, with a proportion of 80 percent, who are most strongly pushing for their IT departments to be brought up to date.
In a worldwide comparison of budget planning, the modernisation of applications, at 61 percent, ranks amongst the three most important goals, following the top themes of security (71 percent) and expansion of big data analytics (64 percent). The greatest effect on business success is expected by survey respondents in Europe (53 percent).
M2M (machine to machine) applications make up around 70 percent of top technological initiatives in Europe and Asia. In North America, on the other hand, this figure stands at just 34 percent. Also in North America, only every fifth head of IT sees development in this area as a strategic driving force for business success. Every third decision-maker believed that the Internet of Things deviates from the core aims of successful company management.
