Keynote today announced Keynote Mobile Device Perspective 4.0, a complete solution for mobile application monitoring and on-demand troubleshooting. With the release of MDP 4.0, Keynote has added more smartphones including Apple iPhone, Android G1, BlackBerry Curve and Nokia N95 to its on-demand global test and measurement network and included a new add-on option called Mobile Device Perspective interactive (MDPi).
MDPi provides real-time desktop access to smartphones in remote locations for interactive troubleshooting and diagnosing issues encountered while monitoring mobile applications with MDP. With MDPi mobile operations and development teams can interact with their mobile applications on the smartphone, get real-time, instantaneous feedback of the LCD screen, as well as save and share results to collaborate across teams.
“Delivering mobile content, applications and services is no easy task. MDP offers companies originating or delivering mobile solutions a comprehensive solution to monitor service delivery and troubleshoot on the fly,” said Vik Chaudhary, VP of product management and corporate development, Keynote. “MDPi greatly simplifies the task of mobile operations teams with unsurpassed screen resolution and virtually no latency while allowing users to remotely perform the cutting-edge touch screen features common on today’s smartphones.”
The target user for MDP 4.0 and add-on feature MDPi include the following:
- Network Operations Center and Customer Support Personnel
- Mobile Business Unit Owners and Managers
- Mobile Enablers mobilize regular Web/rich media content and enable companies to go mobile
- Operators/Device OEMs
MDP 4.0 is available in two flavors: on the Keynote public test and measurement network and as a private network that is built, operated and managed by Keynote. In either instance, MDP is made available from any desktop with an Internet connection and includes practically any mobile phone including all popular smartphones .
With MDPi, the user ought to control smartphones as if they were in their own hands. With a simple USB cable, MDPi users can immediately upload mobile applications from their desktop to a remote device to begin interacting with the device-resident application. MDPi ought to deliver fast interaction, superior screen resolution, and can use advanced features such as swiping, pinching, multi-tap, accelerometer rotation and much more. MDPi saves results to a central repository that can be shared with coworkers. Operations, QA teams and managers get quick access to results. MDPi also lets users simultaneously access as many devices as they choose enabling them to test more in less time.
MDPi also allows users to easily enter any text (characters and symbols) directly by typing on the keyboard. For interactive diagnostics MDPi users can control devices in real-time and receive instantaneous feedback with a pixel-perfect capture of the entire LCD screen without any degradation. MDPi provides comprehensive support for all hardware functions of the device enabling the tester to do anything that their end-user can do on the device.
