Genband Femtocell Gateways: Femtocell Security Solutions Display at MWC 2010

Genband Inc. today announced that it will participate in FemtoZone at Mobile World Congress 2010 (MWC) and discuss the latest advances in femtocell gateway security along with the company’s entire femtocell gateway solution. FemtoZone is hosted by the GSMA and The Femto Forum and features operators, vendors, analysts and other industry bodies addressing the femtocell market’s move to the mass market.

With femtocell deployment now taking place on three continents, FemtoZone 2010 ought to provide a one-stop shop for updates on the femtocell ecosystem development. As part of the daily FemtoZone speaker program, Dr. Natasha Tamaskar, Genband’s VP of product marketing, will present ‘Securing Converged IP Networks’ on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 10:30 am at Hall 1, Stand 1G19.

“At this year’s FemtoZone, we look forward to discussing the central role security plays in femtocell deployments,” said Dr. Tamaskar. “Genband’s femtocell gateways form the fundamental bridge for femtocell traffic into the mobile core, while delivering the vital security necessary to protect the network. Together with our femtocell ecosystem partners, we are involved in major live femtocell deployments and active femtocell trials with tier 1 operators worldwide.”

Genband will highlight its femtocell gateway components G9 Converged Gateway and S2 Security Gateway at the FemtoZone product showcase as well as at its own stand (2B90). (Source: Genband Inc./GST)
