CoSoSys announces the availability of My Endpoint Protector (MyEPP), the first SaaS application (Software-as-a-Service) to deliver Data Loss Prevention and device control. This cloud computing service is designed to help companies manage the security threats created by portable data storage devices without overtaxing stretched IT resources.
The Privacy Rights Clearing House notes that more than 260 million records containing sensitive personal information have been exposed in the US alone since January 2005. Such security breaches lead to data loss which causes loss of revenue, customers, trust, stockholder value and brand recognition. Especially tools like smart phones and USB thumb drives open the door to security risks.
My Endpoint Protector uses a policy-based approach to manage the use of data on endpoints – Desktops, Laptops, Netbooks and more – from a centralized web console. This solution is designed to control the use of portable devices and defines specific rights for devices and users accessing the network.
The software is designed to:
