About 12.4 million Germans have already bought clothes or sun glasses and belts over the internet. Online purchasing of clothes is particularly popular among women, according to BITKOM.
Another reason for buying online is good consumer protection. If the trousers does not fit or the handbag not meet with expectations, the purchased goods may be returned to the seller within a period of 14 days without stating any reason. .
According to BITKOM, e-commerce is more popular in Germany than in most other European countries. According to Eurostat, 42 % of Germans bought something online last year whereas the European average was 24%.
