Once more the GfK study „best brands 2009“ this year determined Germany’s most successful brand names. This year’s winner in the category „Best company brand” is Google. Miele, who are a manufacturer of household appliances, won in the category of „product brand” and the underwear manufacturer Mey”became the best “Growth brand”. In the special category “Best design brand among decision makers” the first prize went to the Italian lamp producer Artemide.
The prize winners were chosen by consumers which were interviewed in the course of a representative study carried out by the association for research on consumption (GfK). The German “best brands” ranking was first established in 2004. The objective of this award campaign is to promote brand awareness in Germany. The ranking in question takes into account two criteria: the actual economic market success of a brand (share of market) and the popularity of a brand in the perception of consumers (share of soul).
A presentation containing detailed information on the ranking is available for free-of-charge download.
