In December 2008 the average price increase in the Eurozone (EZ15) amounted to 1.6% as compared to December 2007. This is the current estimate by the experts of the European Statistical Office (Eurostat). In November the inflation rate had been 2.1%. The inflation rate in the Eurozone is established on the basis of the consumer price index of the Eurozone (VPI-EWU).
