Anuga 2007 food fair focuses on export markets

Two-digit growth rates in exports by the German food industry illustrate a trend which is marked by an international expansion of the German food industry. In 2006 there was a record turnover in this industry amounting to 32.1 billion Euros thereby clearly surpassing the 30 billion Euro barrier for the first time. This year´s Anuga food trade fair in Cologne (from October 13th to 17th 2007) therefore focuses on export issues.

The Federal Ministry for alimentation, agriculture and consumer protection (BMELV) and the Association for the German food industry (BVE) support exporting companies with numerous events designed to promote exports. Under to slogan »Fit for Global Business – Exportmärkte im Fokus« BMELV and BVE will jointly carry out promotional information activities on current export issues. The objective is to inform managing directors and export managers about important export markets and to demonstrate the support of the German government and associations. GERMAN
