Economic situation in Central and Eastern Europe unchanged

A survey by the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim and the Erste Bank der österreichischen Sparkassen in Vienna suggests that the economic situation in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe will hardly change over the next six months. Those questioned said that the current state of the economy is good.

The economic situation in Austria is also mostly considered to be good by the experts of the ZEW and the Erste Bank (75.6 points). However, for the six months to come experts expect the economy in Austria to somewhat lose momentum.

The CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) economic indicator which evaluates the future economic development over a period of six months fell by another 1.8 points in July to currently 8.8 points. Most financial experts (70.2%), however, do still not expect any change in the economic development in the next six months.
