According to preliminary figures by the Federal Statistical Office there were exports from Germany amounting to 77.6 billion Euros in February 2007 and imports to the value of 63.4 billion Euros. This corresponds to a 10.9% increase as compared to February 2006. Compared to January 2007 exports increased by 1.9% and imports by 5.6%.
The foreign trade balance for February 2007 closed with a surplus of 14.2 billion Euros. For February 2006 the balance had just been 12.7 billion Euros. Adjusted for season the foreign trade surplus for February 2007 amounted to 13.8 billion Euros.
According to preliminary calculations by the German Bundesbank the balance of current accounts closed with a surplus of 8.4 billion Euros in February 2007, whereas the balance had been 8.1 billion Euros in February 2006.
