Three million small and medium-sized entities account for 57 percent of the entire German economic output. These companies employ 74 percent of all gainfully employed persons and train 75 percent of all apprentices. Thus, small and medium-sized entities (SMEs) stand for entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and progress.
For this reason the Markt und Mittelstand magazine has brought into being the SME-awards which for the first time will be awarded on February 22nd 2007 in Berlin. By awarding these prizes outstanding achievements of SMEs as well as trend-setting initiatives from politics and business will be honoured. Everyone filling in a form in PDF format on the Markt und Mittelstand website is eligible to winning two entrance cards to the award ceremony.
