After having reached a 15-year-high last month the opinion of SMEs on the economic outlook has – as expected – been less optimistic in July. This is confirmed by the current findings of the KfW-ifo-barometer survey carried out each month by the KfW banking group in co-operation with the Munich based ifo Institute.
Although the economic climate felt among SMEs, which represents the barometer´s main indicator, cooled off slightly by 1.1 points as compared to the previous month, it again clearly surpassed last year´s reference value by 23.5 points. These figures show that in the eyes of small and medium-sized entities (SMEs) the economic development is set to continue in a sustained manner at a high level even after the hype surrounding the Football World Cup is over.
